Negative Calorie Food Recipes

Negative calorie food - it may appear that these are foods that do not have any calorie at all. Well to be frank there is no food that has negative calorie. Whatever stuff you eat has some calories that it provides you , but when you eat something it has to be digested and hence some of the calories that food was going to give you, gets used up for digestion and hence you get little less calorie that the food actually contains. The basic concept behind negative calorie foods is that they use more calories to digest than the calories the foods actually contain!

Negative Calorie Foods - Reality or a Myth!

Well I know you all are getting out of your chairs to know about what are these foods, can I get list of them, I will start having them right now. But wait negative calorie foods are still under investigation and not available in the market. But let us see how it works with them.

Firstly get it straight that all foods have a caloric (calories), nutrient (carbohydrate, fat, protein), and vitamin & mineral (enzyme producing) content so that u can get the explanation.

Now what happens is that vitamins in the food produce enzymes that ideally are sufficient to breakdown that particular food’s caloric nutrients. Before getting into negative calorie food let us see what happens with junk food (empty calorie food). Foods falling into this “empty calorie” category would be foods with too little enzyme producing vitamin & mineral content, while containing a surplus of calories. The ingestion of empty calorie foods requires the body to produce its own enzymes to be able to convert these “empty calories” into usable energy.

On the contrary in case of negative calorie food the vitamins provide for enzyme production in quantities sufficient to break down not only its own host calories, but possibly additional calories present in digestion as well.

For instance: A diet consisting of 300 calories may require only 110 calories to be digested by our body, resulting in a net gain of 190 calories which is added to our body fat! According to this theory, you will get a better picture of why these foods are termed as negative calorie food for example, if you eat 100 calories of a negative food that requires 150 calories to digest means u have burnt an additional 50 calories simply by eating that food.

All this seems rubbish at first, someone eating food and getting calories used up instead of any calories being given to the body. But with a conscious effort to understand the mystery or science behind this fact our team has got some really raw facts about this theory. It is true that there is nothing like negative food right now but who knows?
