Avoiding Depression
Obesity does not strike; it gradually kills, not by weapons but with emotions. It is a fact that Corpulence can get into your mind and can cause serious depression if you take it extremely. Weight problems worsen when you can’t get that extra weight off even after trying hard for a short span. Time comes when your will power surrenders before your urge to eat and result it the obvious.
Depression has become the worst nightmare for medical science. Today plague kills lesser people then those who become the victim of depression. Depression is one of the worst psychological consequences of obesity, which includes lowered self-respect and concern, and more serious disorders such as eating disorders such as over eating, bulimia and anorexia. You tend to eat more in order to stay away from it and in turn gain more weight that breeds within you newer seeds for further growth of the disease.
Times have changed and the upcoming generations have hard roads to cover. New civilization is remarkable in the way that it worships youthful slim, toned bodies and healthy physique. Looking sexy has only become the wardrobe of slimmer and thinner bodies with some rare exceptions and only proportional bodies are considered sexy. Obese or flabby people are looked down upon like bandits. It has been set as a guideline that if you are slim then you are cool (smart) else take a walk. This kind of behavior works as fuel on fire and ignites the depression thing in obese adults. It's easy to feel terrible about one's self, to become depressed or anxious or to develop obsessions around eating control when one's culture makes it clear that the way one appears is completely undesirable.
It comes as no surprise that such stress-induced eating leads to weight gain, which in turn leads many people (especially women) to feel still worse about them. This kind of outburst of eating can motivate you to eat more and results in additional weight gain (chain reaction) and at last this becomes a vicious cycle and downward spiral. If the pessimistic health and shame aspects of being overweight aren't enough, overweight people also suffer from lack of energy to perform day to day task. No doubt it takes them further exertion than their fit counterparts to be active. A fateful circle develops wherein their risk of gaining still more weight increases with each byte of fat getting added to their body. Depression seems more overwhelming as exercise is avoided and they are chocked. Thus to loose weight you must be strong from within and do not let depression ruin your life.
