- “Fat free” Chants: The word fat free seems like the gift of god to many of you who are on a diet since you feel invincible (in a dietary way) while buying and consuming such products. You feel great that you are avoiding but yet after some time you see that you are not losing weight but instead may even gain some, now you think what could be wrong here? Well the word fat free got you actually. Food products with fat free labels and ads have some disadvantage. Firstly because some products are free of fat yet their calorific values are still high so you are still eating food with large amount of calories. Also in order to make their product taste good despite not using fat, the manufacturer add certain other ingredients like sugar which at the end of the day add up-to large calories. Another factor is that since the food is labeled fat free we tend to eat more of it and thus at the end of the day we end up with the same amount of calories.

- Fat fattens: Yes fats are the major culprit in weight gain but they are not the sole perpetrator of the crime. But weight gain can occur easily form carbohydrates as well as proteins. So while fat intake should be kept low but it should not be completely eliminated from your diet as it serves many essential functions in our body like adding fat soluble vitamins and minerals.
- Parent’s patent: It is not essential that if your parents are overweight you should be overweight too. Generally we see that children and parents both suffer from weight problems but it maybe due to dietary malpractices followed at home. Though in some cases it is due to genetic inheritance.
