Comprehending Nutrition

Nutrition is the basic essence of the health of any being on earth. Every being has to rely on it to supply the very essence of all functioning – ENERGY. But to derive this energy various other chemicals are required and similarly to finish the other important functions of their life like propagating the species and ensuring its survival. But for most organism the problem of nutrition is less severe since it solely depends upon the availability of their natural food source.

But here’s where human beings start standing apart, since we are the omnivores with the largest menu eating everything there is to eat. While eating such wide varieties of food we may either overdo some nutrients where as intake deficient quantities of the other. The concept of balanced diet is rarely followed and today whereas some developing countries face the problems of malnutrition, developed countries have a growing problem related to obesity.

The problem of malnutrition though very hard to solve, can still be solved by joint efforts around the world but the problems pertaining to obesity seems unlikely to be solved in the near future. Our eating tendencies today are largely based on taste and cravings rather than our nutritional need. This trend puts many people at unawares that they are consuming more energy nutrients than necessary and end up having weight problems since our body is designed to store food especially energy supplements for use during shortage. This results in storage of such energy in the form of fats which go on to increase weight and similar problems.

This implies proper intake of nutrition in the sense that each required nutrient to be taken in the required quantities. So following proper nutrition routines ensure good health and keep you away from many of the diseases like high blood sugar etc. Reforming our eating habit has a great advantage when it comes to staying fit i.e. having good efficiency. So developing healthy eating habits is the key feature to achieving proper nutrition. Especially the fact that we should not let the taste be the sole factor in what we consume. But instead should be rich in nutrients that we need. To do this we need to gauge our own daily nutrient needs and also the amount of various components of nutrition present in each food components especially those that we regularly consume.

So following such practices make us fit give us a better physical fitness which is not only reflected in our activities but in our overall physical outlook.
