Stress Management and Physical Fitness
Stress is the most common trigger for depression and is known to even cause physical damage through the chemicals released when one is under stress. So, it is very important to minimize mental and physical stress by knowing the causes and a little help from others in managing it.
The symptoms of physical stress may include increased irritability, increased sensitivity towards comments and taunts, excessive nail-biting and sudden decrease in productivity. There may be other symptoms specific to people or nature of the job.
The most common cause of mental stress is known to be work pressure and a fast lifestyle. Work related stress can hamper productivity and at the same time affect your personal life as well. One should try not to burden oneself with too much work as it just piles physical stress on more stress. Also, talking to a friend or a colleague can help lighten your heart thereby reducing any form of stress. Maintaining a good work environment through family pictures and small toys may also be an option. One should avoid taking work to the home as it increases stress and also affect relationship with your family.
Emotional stress is another irksome truth of life. Quarrels with loved ones and important people causes emotional stress and hampers personal development in the long run. Repeated conflicts between partners may lead to differences and even divorces and breakups in the extreme cases. These breakups may in turn lead to mental stress, thus creating a vicious circle.
In the recent years, sexual stress has also been identified as a major offbeat issue. Sexual stress in turn may be caused due to non-performance during intercourse, caused due to mental and physical fatigue. Sexual reconsideration of partners may also lead to sexual stress. One of the way to bust this stress is proper foreplay and in extreme cases, counseling by a sexologist or a marriage expert, as needed.
Stress is one of the major hindrances in the productivity of an individual and can often lead to difference of opinions even when it could have been avoided. Many organizations and human resource experts have understood the importance of decreasing professional and personal stress and many team building exercises now include a fun part to also catalyze stress busting. One should constantly work on a personal level to keep stress at bay and thus perform to ones true ability.
